Were Gene were any good or not? Were they a Rymans league version of The Smiths? Who cares when the always readable Taylor Parkes is ranting.

Thank you, Charles, but I think “readable” is the kindest thing anyone can say about this article.
It really is complete trash (even for the time), but at least it knows it. Written drunk in four hours – I remember sitting in ET’s house churning this out, smiling weakly and saying hey, never mind, if anyone remembers us in ten years time, they’ll only be able to remember the GOOD STUFF. I wasn’t banking on sites like this. Mind you, my other memory of that night is being utterly amazed that Everett had a computer you could play CDs on, so you can’t blame me for not anticipating the fucking internet.
Stockholm was good, though.
